Product Review: Nioxin

Presenting the Nioxin hair treament

Nioxin is an in-salon hair treatment for thinning hair. With more than 25 years experience in the hair therapy industry, Nioxin’s shampoos, conditioners, and hair serums were all developed with the idea of treating the scalp as the most important component of hair growth. (Which it is, really, if you think about it.)

The Nioxin at-home treatment is based on a skincare approach to reducing hair-fall. I received samples of the treatment as part of the launch event, and it comprises of three elements:

  • a cleanser
  • a scalp conditioner
  • a leave-in serum

The very first time I used the cleaners et al was in the salon, at the launch event, so I already knew they were great products. I’m a sucker for mint, and the cleanser and conditioner both contain peppermint oil, so I automatically loved them.

Immediately following the salon experience, I posted the final photo – post professional blow-dry – on my Facebook page. I got great comments from everyone, but I privately thought that it was obvious that it would be liked, because I’d been at a salon.

And a final pic after the hair treatment at the #NioxinNowInIndia launch event. Thanks for the photo, Ankita!

I’ve been using the Nioxin products twice-thrice a week this whole month, and while I can’t say that I’ve seen a drastic reduction in my hair thinning, the treatment does give me a lovely, invigorating feeling whenever I shampooed my hair in the mornings and went to office. A great start to my day!

The cleanser and conditioner, while lovely, were not what really impressed me. I loved the leave-in serum, just the single product was enough to make my hair feel wonderfully smooth, post my shampoo.

A photo taken last week – I think the smile on my face speaks for itself!

So would I recommend the Nioxin treatment? Definitely. =)
