[Gandalf, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, AU]
It had taken him a while, but he could be very patient when he wanted to be.
He’d not liked to admit it, but when he had first seen his old friend, he had been struck by a pang of envy. He had to go everywhere on foot, wandering like a daft old bugger, and here was his contemporary, enjoying the very best of comforts!
That was when he’d decided he’d get the same for himself.
Now Gandalf stood on the sled and jingled the harnesses that bound the Rhosgobel rabbits into teams of ten. ‘Come on,’ he cried, ‘mush!’
A/N: I couldn’t resist. After all, for someone known as the Grey Pilgrim, watching Radagast the Brown getting about on a sled would be annoying!
